Background
Patricia has been fascinated by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from a young age, growing up under the influence of her godfather who is a TCM practitioner in Hong Kong. Her Chinese background also meant that she speaks fluent Cantonese and understands the importance of preventative medicine.

Having grown up in Australia and England, Patricia speaks fluent English thus minimising the chance of misunderstanding, which can easily happen with practitioners from China who do not speak the language.

Professional Qualifications
BSc (Hons) Traditional Chinese Medicine (Middlesex University)
Bachelor of Medicine (Beijing University of Chinese Medicine)
Professional Diploma - Tuina Massage (Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine)
Member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Academic Training and Clinical Experience
Middlesex University is regarded as one of the best TCM programmes in Europe since it provides professional training in all therapies of TCM as well as Western Medical diagnostic and clinical skills. The five-year full-time TCM degree course Patricia graduated from was validated by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and included a five-month full-time clinical placement in two of the largest hospitals in Beijing, the Sino-Japan Friendship Hospital and the Xi Yuan Hospital. The TCM treatment methods used in various hospital departments have enhanced Patricia's clinical experience in cardiology, neurology, respiratory, gynaecology, dermatology, traumatology and paediatric.

UK clinical placements include:
• Asante Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (London)
• Haverstock Hill Clinic (London)
• Whittington Hospital Pain Clinic (London)
• Chinese National Healthy Living / NHS Walk-in Centre (Soho)

Awards and Scholarships
Patricia was awarded the "Middlesex University Regional Scholarship" for the years 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 for her outstanding academic achievements.

She also gained her professional diploma in Tuina massage (Chinese Therapeutic Massage).

Patricia was awarded the "Prize for Excellence in TCM Studies 2005" by the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) in her final year at Middlesex University in recognition of her hard work and achievements in the study and practice of TCM.

Patricia was appointed President of the TCM Society at Middlesex University in 2002/2003.

Continual Professional Development (CPD)
Patricia regularly attends courses and seminars held by professional bodies and institutes such as ATCM, RCHM (the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine) and the Northern College of Acupuncture.

Patricia's CPD is enhanced by her ability to read Chinese as this allows her wide access to the latest TCM literature.

Professional Association
Patricia is a full member of the ATCM, the largest professional body for TCM in the UK, which is actively involved in the current process of the statutory regulation of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the UK. Only fully qualified practitioners with at least four years of full-time training at recognised institutes are allowed to join the ATCM therefore patients can be assured of the level of services that Patricia has to offer.

Individual Practitioner Style
Patricia's professional and calm manner helps put her patients at ease. All individual treatment plans are devised after a detailed consultation and Patricia will work closely with you to ensure that all your treatments are tailor-made to suit your individual needs.

Patricia always has her patient's best interest in mind and believes in providing the most appropriate TCM treatments for all patients at all times. Due to her training and clinical practice in both the UK and Beijing, Patricia understands the importance of working alongside conventional medicine and readily recommends patients to check with their general practitioners before commencing acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine treatments. Patricia firmly believes that TCM is a path to well-being and that it can complement most existing western treatments. Patricia supplements all diagnosis with advice on diet and lifestyle to give an all round improvement to life.

Patricia has a wide knowledge on many medical conditions and has particular success in helping with pain syndromes such as sports injuries, back pain, gynaecological problems and mental-emotional problems such as stress and insomnia.

Patricia supports the Nightingale Community Hospice in Enfield and every Tuesday afternoon she volunteers at the Lancaster Centre, offering acupuncture treatments for cancer suffers and their carers.
